Project Purpose
"Joyful moment, Endless memory." SISOLOGY is a Korean niche fragrance house — ESXENCE Milan, Vogue, Le Monde — whose Cafe24 storefront had stopped matching that standing. The brief named four screens: a new Behind Scent journal in two parts, and a rebuilt home and product page. What made the work interesting was not the blank page but the refusals. Cafe24 blocks video uploads by file extension, its template engine hoists markup out of comments, and half the brand's history was already sitting in the commerce database. Nearly every decision here came from reading a constraint correctly rather than designing past it.
Scope
- · Main Page Renewal (5 Sections)
- · Behind Scent — Archive (55) & Press (9)
- · Product Detail Top UI, Option Sheet & Restock
- · Responsive Build & Legacy Defect Repair
Key Technical Features
Reading the Platform's Refusals
- · Cafe24's design server rejects video by file extension rather than size — a 9MB JPG uploads where a 1KB MP4 does not. The brand film runs as an embed instead, with the player frame matched to the source aspect so the footage is never letterboxed.
- · The client later supplied landscape and vertical cuts. The page selects by viewport and swaps the source live when the breakpoint changes, so a rotated tablet never leaves a horizontal film sitting in a vertical frame.
- · Playback was starting three seconds after the slide appeared because the embed was only injected on arrival. It now preloads one slide early and rewinds to zero on activation, so the film is already running when the slide lands.
No Migration by Choice
- · 51 archive entries already existed as products in the commerce database, carrying 743 images between them. Rebuilding them on a board module would have meant re-entering every one.
- · The product category was kept and only the skin redrawn. Existing content survived untouched while the presentation changed completely — and the client's contractual limit of nine images per entry was never in conflict.
Repairing What Was Already There
- · The restock notice had been wired to a variable that only exists inside Cafe24's set-product module, so it could never render regardless of stock state. It was rebuilt on a variable valid in that scope and pointed at the shop's actual email-based flow.
- · A commented-out head block was being hoisted by the template engine, leaving its closing marker rendering as visible text on the live home page. Fixed, alongside a hero indicator whose click target was one pixel tall and a horizontal overflow on mobile product pages.
Design Points
A Journal, Not a Catalogue
Behind Scent is built as an editorial three-column read — index, image, text — so 55 campaign records and 9 press features land as a body of work rather than a product list.
Film as Material
The About section presents one photograph sliced across four frames of a 35mm strip, perforations and edge markings included. The film-stock imprint carries the brand name rather than a manufacturer's, which is both the safer and the better choice.

How is a 3D interactive website different from a regular one?
It runs Three.js and WebGL in the browser, so objects move and respond to the cursor and scroll. A regular site organises information; an interactive one delivers the brand as an experience. It pays off most in fashion, beauty, architecture and exhibitions.
How long does a website take to build?
Seven days for a landing page, fifteen for a five-page company site, thirty for a ten-page 3D interactive build. The clock starts when your material arrives and shifts with design feedback. If a date is fixed, say so at the first call and feasibility is checked first.
Are hosting, domain and server costs separate?
SSL certificate, hosting setup and database provisioning are included at no cost. You only pay for the domain, about ₩20,000–30,000 a year. Accounts are created in your name from the start, so nothing lapses when staff change.
Can I edit the content myself after launch?
An admin page is built alongside the site, so text, images and posts can be edited without development knowledge, and a manual is handed over at delivery. Only structural changes or new features need development.
